Privacy Policy

Fancy Pot ("we", "us") operates the Fancy Pot mobile and web app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email support@fancypot.org.

1. Information we collect

  • Account: email address, optional display name and avatar.
  • Wardrobe content: photos of clothing you upload, AI-generated metadata (category, color, tags), saved outfits, and try-on results.
  • Subscription: plan tier and billing status (handled by our payment processor; we never see your card number).
  • Usage: in-app actions, error logs, and basic device info needed to run the service.
  • Optional phone number: only if you opt into SMS verification.

1b. How we collect it

  • Directly from you: what you type or upload — email and password at sign-up, display name, bio, birthday, clothing photos, full-body try-on photos, occasion/vibe text, and saved preferences.
  • From Apple, when you use Sign in with Apple: the identity token Apple returns, which gives us your email (or Apple's private relay address) and name if you share it.
  • Automatically as you use the app: in-app actions, feature usage counts, error and crash logs, and basic device/app-version info, collected by our software while the app runs.
  • From our payment processors: your plan tier and billing status after a purchase. We never receive your card number.

We do not buy personal data or collect it from data brokers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How we use it

  • Run core features: build your wardrobe, generate outfits, virtual try-on.
  • Personalize recommendations.
  • Send transactional email (sign-in, receipts, account changes).
  • Detect abuse and keep accounts secure.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your photos to train third-party foundation models.

3. AI features and third-party AI services

Fancy Pot's AI features (Style Me outfit generation, Virtual Try-On, wardrobe background removal and tagging, outfit analysis, Get the Look search, and recommendations) work by sending the photo you choose to third-party AI services. We ask for your explicit, in-app consent before the first time any photo is sent, and you can decline and keep using the rest of the app.

Exactly who receives your data

  • Google LLC — its Gemini models (gemini-2.5-flash,gemini-2.5-flash-lite, gemini-2.5-flash-image,gemini-3-pro-image-preview), reached through the Lovable AI Gateway operated by Lovable Labs at ai.gateway.lovable.dev, which acts as an intermediary that routes the request. Used for garment classification, background removal, outfit analysis, outfit generation, complementary-piece recommendations, and Virtual Try-On.
  • SerpAPI (serpapi.com) — runs a Google Lens reverse-image search for the "Get the Look" feature so we can return shoppable matching products.

No other third party receives your photos.

What is sent, feature by feature

  • Adding a wardrobe item → the clothing photo you uploaded → Google/Gemini (classify the garment, remove the background).
  • Style Me / outfit analysis / recommendations → the saved outfit photo you selected, plus the occasion and vibe text you typed → Google/Gemini.
  • Virtual Try-On → a full-body photo of your own body, together with the outfit image you chose → Google/Gemini. This is the most sensitive data we transmit and it is only ever sent when you tap "Dress me".
  • Get the Look → the outfit photo you snapped or uploaded → SerpAPI / Google Lens.

What is never sent

  • Your name, email address, phone number, account ID, payment details, or location.
  • Photos you have not selected for that specific AI action.

How it is used

  • Solely to generate the result you asked for and return it to you.
  • Not used to train or fine-tune any AI model, not used for advertising, and not used to identify or profile you.
  • Retained by these services only as long as needed to produce and return your result; content is processed transiently and not stored for their own purposes.
  • Equal protection commitment: Google, Lovable Labs, and SerpAPI act as our processors under contract and are contractually bound to provide the same or equivalent level of protection for your data as this Privacy Policy describes.

Your control

  • We show an in-app disclosure naming these companies and ask for your explicit permission before the first photo is ever transmitted.
  • AI features do not run until you tap them, and never run on your library in the background.
  • You may decline and continue using wardrobe storage, saved looks, and browsing.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time with the "Allow AI features" toggle in Profile → Privacy & AI (Settings on iOS), or by emailing support@fancypot.org. Withdrawing disables AI features and stops any further sharing.

4. Sharing — every third party we send data to

We share data only with the processors needed to operate the service:

  • Google LLC (Gemini models), via the Lovable AI Gateway operated by Lovable Labs — the photos and text you submit to an AI feature. See section 3.
  • SerpAPI (Google Lens reverse-image search) — the outfit photo you submit to "Get the Look". See section 3.
  • Supabase (Lovable Cloud) — hosting, database, authentication, and storage of your account, closet photos, and saved looks.
  • Stripe / Polar (web) and Apple / RevenueCat (iOS) — subscription purchase and status. They receive your purchase identifiers, not your wardrobe content.
  • Sentry — crash and error diagnostics (device, app version, stack trace). No photos.
  • Lovable Email — delivery of transactional email.
  • Twilio — SMS, only if you choose phone verification.

Equal-protection commitment: every company listed above acts as our processor under a written contract that requires them to provide the same or an equivalent level of protection for your data as this Privacy Policy describes, to use it only to perform the service for us, and not to sell it or use it for their own purposes.

We do not share your personal data with any other third party, and we do not share it for advertising or tracking.

5. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your wardrobe photos, outfits, and profile within 30 days. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics may be retained longer.
